Prana - The new kid on the block!

As you may or may not remember the other week I noticed a new Indian restaurant, which opened on Mill Rd. I was incredibly relieved as Mill Rd's Indian scene has been on the decline as of late, with three shutting down in the past year or so. Not only that, but numerous people have mentioned that the quality has been declining too. One of our more recent reviews of Golden Curry has even confirmed this. The restaurant in question today is Prana. Can it save Mill Rd from curry stagnation? Well tonight I found out! The first thing you notice about the restaurant is how easy it is to miss while walking down the street. The place looks so tiny. Don't let that deceive you though, as its deceptively large. Massala Takeaway

I had the pleasure of trying out a brand new Indian takeaway called Massala on Mitchams Conner. This place can be easily missed next to The Boat House and Jolly Waterman pubs, so make sure to keep a keen eye out if you are looking for it. The service here was very quick and attentive. They take real pride in what they do. The staff was more than happy to discuss the ins and outs of everything they prepare. They had a good selection on the menu, with everything you could think of as well as all the classics we know and love. Even if things weren't on the menu they would be more than happy to prepare them on request. I thought the garlic naan was particularly well done. Something which often gets overlooked by restaurants. Garlic Naan I requested my dish extra hot and that's exactly how I got it. This nearly blew my head off . The staff are friendly, the waiters giving a quick service on drinks even if the food is slightly delayed with its arrival in some circumstances. The owner however is a little bit too touchy with his customers, this may just be because i am ginger (and seeing one of us is actually a rarity in India) but it did seem a little too hands on for even the owner. The food is very well presented and tastes good but that is where the good points end for this meal. The bad points are however numerous in comparison.
