Khaani - St Ives.

Once in a while, there is a dish that comes around which completely blows you out of the water.  The Dishooms famous black daal, the Lalbagh's Rhubarb Seabass, and The Taj Tandooris Bengal Tiger are to name just a few.  Tonight, after being lucky enough to win a competition for a gift voucher, I was finally able to try the last Indian restaurant left in St Ives I've yet to try and discovered an absolute gem of a dish which is up there with some of the best curries I've ever had in my entire life.  We ordered a variety of dishes to cheer us up on a bleak winter's evening, including lamb chops, Peshwari naan, Carolina Reaper vindaloo, saag aloo, and onion Bhajis...but it was The Chicken Ruby which completely stole the show! Chicken Ruby in all its glory!  Described as "a dish which has everything: spice, sweet, savoury, and utterly addictive". All I can say is, I concur! Ed's Beard Review - A London First!

Hello one and all it has been a while i know and since i have not written a decent review (or anything of length that hasn't been about some scientific subject) i thought it would be of some mild entertainment for you all. India House - Newnham (2009)

I have done most of the Indians in this city now and in my time i have heard people talk about "the best curry house in Cambridge".  Such places being mentioned as The Maharajah , The Kohinoor Tandoori and Cafe Naz.    Each good in their own way but they have all failed to tick every single box. The India House however, seems to be the place to do just that. As we came in on a hot summers day we were greeted by a very strong air conditioner which was greatly appreciated considering how hot it was and what I was about to order. We were seated immediately with plenty of places to sit. The decoration was all authentic Indian artwork with chandelier like light and some beautiful ornaments on the table. My friend thought it was quite tacky but i liked it.
