Farewell to Zahza Grill!


A big farewell to the short lived Indian restaurant in Trumpington - The Zahza Grill. 

Not long after my second review of the restaurant and winning the Tifin Cup, the place closed its doors on Monday 28th September. There are currently no plans to reopen it.

I wish them the best of luck in the future. 

How many more places will open and fail at this so called cursed tandoori? In the past several years it has been a Spice Merchant, a Bollywood Spice and now a Zahza Grill.

Montaz - Ely.

As you may or may not be aware, Montaz is a chain of Indian restaurants around the Cambridgeshire area. They have locations in St Ives, Brampton, Newmarket, Ely and Bourne. Cam Spice - Great Eversden

Just when I think i've have tried every Indian restaurant in the Cambridge area, another one pops up!  Not that I am complaining! Keep em coming I say! This afternoon, I had the pleasure of going to the quaint village of Great Eversden to try one of the newest Indian restaurants around, Cam Spice (The Hoops pub).   The restaurant is modern yet set in an old English back drop. The wooden beams along the wall and ceiling are a charming touch.  There is a stunning bar at the entrance which is complimented by some water bubble glass across the room, reminiscent of Indians like the  Rang Mohol  &  Curry Palace .  Everything is presented well and there is a lot of windows which let in a lot of light too.  The staff were great from the very start and warmly greeted us from the moment we entered. Tandoori Palace - Histon Road.

After a heavy weekend dining at The Sultan in St Ives  and  The Regency Club in London , we decided to make it a weekend trio by hitting one of the most overlooked Indian restaurants in Cambridge - The Tandoori Palace. Located on Histon Road, surrounded by some of the cream of Cambridge Indian dining, the Tandoori Palace is often forgotten about as it lacks the usual gimmick or neon sign which seems to be necessary to get noticed now days.   We decided to head in on a Sunday afternoon, still full from my trip to  The Regency Club. We were greeted and shown to a table.
