Happy 4th Birthday Cambridge Curry Crew!




Yes, the blog may only be a few weeks old but the original Cambridge Curry Crew group started four years ago today!

The first meet up was at the Kohinoor restaurant in Cambridge back in April 2010. 
Strangely enough the Kohinoor is also the restaurant we plan on reviewing next for the blog by sheer coincidence. 
It will be interesting to see how the place has changed, if at all, since we were last there! 

Since our first meet up we have had 17 meet up's ranging from places all over Cambridge to Brick Lane in London, also Brighton and Bristol.

Four more years!

Montaz - Ely.

As you may or may not be aware, Montaz is a chain of Indian restaurants around the Cambridgeshire area. They have locations in St Ives, Brampton, Newmarket, Ely and Bourne. I have taken it on myself to try my best and review every single one and compare them to see which is best. I am also curious to see if they are the same across the board in quality and style. Cam Spice - Great Eversden

Just when I think i've have tried every Indian restaurant in the Cambridge area, another one pops up!  Not that I am complaining! Keep em coming I say! This afternoon, I had the pleasure of going to the quaint village of Great Eversden to try one of the newest Indian restaurants around, Cam Spice (The Hoops pub).   The restaurant is modern yet set in an old English back drop. The wooden beams along the wall and ceiling are a charming touch.  There is a stunning bar at the entrance which is complimented by some water bubble glass across the room, reminiscent of Indians like the  Rang Mohol  &  Curry Palace .  Everything is presented well and there is a lot of windows which let in a lot of light too.  The staff were great from the very start and warmly greeted us from the moment we entered. Tandoori Palace - Histon Road.

After a heavy weekend dining at The Sultan in St Ives  and  The Regency Club in London , we decided to make it a weekend trio by hitting one of the most overlooked Indian restaurants in Cambridge - The Tandoori Palace. Located on Histon Road, surrounded by some of the cream of Cambridge Indian dining, the Tandoori Palace is often forgotten about as it lacks the usual gimmick or neon sign which seems to be necessary to get noticed now days.   We decided to head in on a Sunday afternoon, still full from my trip to  The Regency Club. We were greeted and shown to a table. The place was empty at the time but the place looked nice.
